It’s been one of my absolute favorite parlor games for a few years now, so it should come as no surprise that I am highly amused and thrilled by this public guessing game about who will play Daisy Buchanan (and Jordan Baker, for that matter) in Baz Luhrmann’s Gatsby. (That’s what it’s going to be called, right? And the film poster will just be the book cover, yes? OK, glad that’s settled.) I don’t endorse any of these choices—I endorse all of them—but if there’s one actress that must play one part, it’s Anne Hathaway as Jordan Baker. Non-negotiable.
